Vintage Stainer stamped violin, Circa 1880, possibly older. Geared pegs and a harp style tailpiece. More information listed in the video demo. Stings are Zyex, the strings did take Catherine a bit to settle into as you will hear several squeaks as she plays during the beginning. She's not a Zyex fan, however they are regarded well by fiddlers.

This war horse has had many repairs, some not so pretty, however she has the sound to overcome the looks. (personally I LOVE violins that show the age and knocks of years of play)
This violin was converted to a 5-string set up, the violin neck is still violin size, so the strings are a bit squished, however very much playable, and in some situations desirable to those with smaller fingertips.
