Through articles and archive newspapers we learned he was professionally trained in Boston, the mecca of violin making in the USA at the time. We can't determine his teacher. It was said he also was known in Paris and other parts of Europe for his instruments.Famous business men would send Strads to him for repair.
This is certainly a wonderful piece of American history and a wonderfully sounding instrument.

Mr. Wesco created the 'Wesco System of Writing', teaching penmanship in the early 1900's as a professor. He also traveled to Boston to learn violin making.
