The violin was acquired from the granddaughter of an amateur luthier, the luthier was born in the 1800's and was a fan of the old Italian copies. This violin was recently re-graduated, twice, by a European violin maker due to the thickness of the top plate. It was perfected on the second re-voicing. It had the 'built in' bass bar removed and new proper bass bar added by an award winning violin maker in Arlington, Texas. These repairs alone typically cost in excess $1,000 USD.

The 'cracks' on the front are faux and is an 'antiquing' method to make the violin appear older.
